Rents in Shoreditch Break the £50.00 per sq ft mark – Oh No !

Shoreditch Office Space is the only agency with their unique tenant only business model looking to help tenants find the best deals rather than assist Landlords in getting the highest rents. So it was a sad day when we started to hear rumours that some Landlord agents were trying to push rents up to the £50.00 per sq ft price range.

These lofty levels have already been achieved in nearby Clerkenwell, but for brand new high specification office buildings. The type of spaces we are getting a sniff of being let at £50.00 per sqft per annum don’t actually even have air conditioning.  They are however the quintessential East London Dream office – i.e high ceilings, wood floors and load of character.

So to put this into perspective. Shoreditch is now pretty much on rental parity with Covent Garden, The City, Noho and Victoria. Rents are cheaper in places like Holborn, Euston, Kings Cross, London Bridge and Camden.
