The Tea Building – Shoreditch Office Space

The Tea Building on the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road is owned by one of the area’s largest land owners. Without a doubt it is one of the most desirable and sought after addresses in the Shorditch area. The landlord has been busy improving the desirability of the now Iconic Tea Building for some time now, and as the rents have crept up in the area, a more mixed tenant mix is emerging both creative and Tech based.

One of the Tea Building’s most interesting tenants, Mind Candy has recently agreed to take new offices at Bonhill Street in the heart of Tech City. And with this departure some office space is becoming vacant soon. Shoreditch Office Space understand that the Landord has appointed disposal agents  and a pre-marketing campaign is underway, meaning that if you are looking for about 10,000 sq ft on a single floor (hard to find in Shoreditch – let alone The Tea Building) then this could be a great opportunity to see whether your a Tea sort of person.

Shoreditch Office Space are not the appointed letting agent for this building. We are a tenant only property consultancy that advises occupiers on their office search and relocation projects in East London.

Iconic Shoreditch Office Buildings

At Shoreditch Office Space, our team of expert property consultants are always out scouring the streets of East London looking for new and exciting spaces. This is an example of something we came across on our travels…

Like the Tea Building, Zetland House is one of the most iconic buildings in Shoreditch. Today, it provides fantastic warehouse style studio spaces and office units, as well as access to internal gymnasium and café. Arranged over six floors, Zetland House benefits from industrial interior design, with large exterior windows allowing for lots of natural light. It has maintained a number of its original period features, with office units enjoying wooden floors and high ceilings.

Spaces in the property can range from 1,000 to 7,000 sq. ft. Whether your are a start-up looking to position yourselves in the heart of Shoreditch, or an expanding company needing more space, they are able to accommodate you.

Positioned between Old Street Roundabout and Shoreditch High Street, space in Zetland House is in high demand, with an increasing number of companies seeking attractive work space within the ‘Tech City’ cluster boundaries.

Linkedin Secure New Office Space but not in Shoreditch

At one point there was talk of Linkedin acquiring new office space outside of the West End and as part of their search they considered options in Shoreditch and the surrounding sub markets such as Clerkenwell and Kings Cross.

Alas it wasn’t to be and Tech City has failed to attract an important new media player. Instead LinkedIn have chosen to remain in the West End by taking approximately 50,000 sq ft at Castlewood House which is on New Oxford Street.

Previously LinkedIn were a tenant of one of Shoreditch’s bigger Landlords and owner of The Tea Building Derwent London. With this relationship many thought that Derwent may be able to negotiate a great deal in one of their future Shoreditch or Clerkenwell buildings but it wasn’t to be.

There are however some exciting new office buildings expected for later in 2013 so if you are looking for a large amount of space then Shoreditch Office Space would like to talk you through some ideas.
